Sunning in Antarctica

Seal Sun.jpg

December 31, 2013

Yesterday we continued to cruise Antarctica. More beautiful glaciers and icebergs. We cruised through a narrow channel with cliffs and glaciers on both sides. It was spectacular!

It was so sunny that we sat on deck yesterday morning in sweaters - even Judy! In fact, we learned that it was warmer here than back in Ontario. We lazed in the sunshine just like the seal in the photo above.

We are actually running short on superlatives to describe the sights that we are seeing. Our new past time is spotting the penguins and seals on shore or on the icebergs. Judy spotted a whale while we were having dinner last night. What a sight!

The captain has announced that today we will be leaving Antarctica, sailing through the Drake passage and eventually rounding Cape Horn. He says we should expect some "motion in the ocean". Gravol anyone?
